My story of Paris

16th August 2008

I could almost hear the sound of the horses hooves.
If I closed my eyes the scene of ornately dressed women and men of the past evolved before me. Here in the ancient city of Paris it was so easy to drift into the days of the past.
This city has stood since 3BC. These streets have been walked down for over 2 thousand years. The architecture and streets tell the story of those who have come before.
Their history and legacy are around every corner.
This city has a heartbeat that has evolved throughout the course of history and now stands to remind us of our past.
The streets of Paris tell stories of prosperity and of great struggle.
They speak of great courage and great beauty but also show the harshness of life.

I reflected as I soaked in the history about the legacy that I will leave for those who will follow in my footsteps?
What will those who walk through the streets of my life, be able to see and hear about my life? What will the history that I leave, say about me?
Will my story speak of courage and love or will it diminish into a blur of days?
Will my children see footsteps of grace and patient or will my footsteps be too hurried for them to know who I really was?
Will my footsteps join with the ones of those around me or will they walk alone and in solitude? Will those who look back over my journey see a walk of beauty throughout the struggle?
Will I allow the harshness of life erase my footsteps or
will they walk on and finish the story before me?

Absolutely encouraging, stiring words for each mother..... whether we have sons or daughters .... we each hope, pray & (are forever learning to) let go.... encouraging our "little" ones to stand up & seize each moment of each day to make a positive difference.
